Taoglas, a leading provider of next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, will showcase its IoT EDGE portfolio including the EDGE Locate™, the EDGE Connect™ and the newest EDGE IoT Starter Kit for next-generation IoT solutions. Taoglas will also introduce its newest antenna and RF designs as well as demonstrate customer applications, including a revolutionary IoT connected health solution for the equestrian industry which monitors a horse’s heart rate, activity, behavior and GPS location in real-time.

The EDGE Locate is a GNSS L1/L2/E5 solution that combines antenna, RF electronics, receiver and when used in conjunction with real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning capability, the technology can deliver reliable centimeter-level positioning. Using EDGE Locate, manufacturers can quickly and effectively build devices with centimeter-level positioning technology, avoiding costly and lengthy RF design, integration and testing processes. The device features multiband Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning that may be used in conjunction with RTK positioning capability with RTK set up and service also be provided by Taoglas. EDGE Locate can help enable more reliable location-specific, mission-critical services, such as emergency response, smart infrastructure, precision agriculture and micromobility use cases where precise location provides critical value to the IoT application. Taoglas recently integrated this technology into an e-scooter pilot launch on the Dublin City University campus.

The EDGE Connect is a next-generation IoT hardware and software platform that provides full cellular, Bluetooth and GPS capabilities with sensor integration, device management, a full IoT security stack and Data-as-a-Service out of the box. The EDGE Connect was recently chosen by Vodafone Ireland for the Vodafone Business Invent application development platform.

Taoglas’ EDGE IoT Starter Kit will also be showcased at CES. It integrates the EDGE Connect and EDGE Locate platforms. With the EDGE IoT Starter Kit, enterprises can easily design, develop, pilot and deploy a range of IoT applications with a cost-effective short- and long-range wireless hardware and software platform – complete with a variety of sensors – and leverage data gathered from edge devices and sensors for advanced insights.

Taoglas will also be showcasing its industry-leading 5G antenna portfolio, the latest in LTE antennas such as CATM and NBIoT, in addition a broad range of wireless technologies, encompassing GNSS, Wi-Fi, DSRC/CV2X, NFC, LORA/LPWAN.

“As we get closer to fully realizing 5G, Taoglas’ expertise in integrating high-performance antennas with IoT solutions will help solve increasingly complex challenges across the consumer and industrial spaces,” said Ronan Quinlan, co-CEO of Taoglas. “Our IoT platforms and antenna portfolio, combined with our world-class design services underscore the value we add as a trusted partner to our customers and enable them to get to market on time, the first time.”
